LED bulbs consume significantly less energy than traditional light sources and emit no heat when lit. LED diodes are also characterised by a very long operating time – the average operating life of an LED bulb is approximately 15,000 hours. During this time we would use 15 to 30 traditional bulbs. It should also be noted that they shine at full power immediately after switching on and turn off instantly after switching off, whereas traditional bulbs and fluorescent tubes need a few seconds to reach full brightness.
